Food Network on Dish TV

There are many who love to cook. For those people Dish TV has introduced a unique TV channel named Food Network. The contents of this New York based TV Channel is solely dedicated to food and cooking. The channel has two owners. The first one is Scripps Networks Interactive and the other one is Tribune Company.

Scripps Networks Interactive holds the major share in this channel while the rest of the shares are held by Tribune Company. It is believed that more then ninety million households in the United States have subscribed to this channel. Latest reports also states that the channel is viewed mainly by women. In fact the channel is designed especially for women since they are ones who know that “The way to a Man’s heart is through his stomach”.

The channel came into existence on November 23, 1993 and it was previously known as TV Food Network. The concept of creating a TV channel dedicated only to food and cooking came from Joe Langhan. At present he is serving Wine Network as an executive producer. The TV channel company is having its office in some of the major cities of the United States such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Knoxville, Detroit and Atlanta.

The programming in Food Network has been categorized in two types. One is daytime coverage and the other one is the primetime, which is broadcasted only during the night. The daytime coverage is called “Food Network in the Kitchen” and the later one is referred as “Food Network Nighttime.” The programs in this channel are anchored by some of the well known Chefs like Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batali and many others. The channel is right now available on Dish TV in SD and HD format.
